Dale was appointed President of the Vepica office in Canada in 2016, and has successfully led the company through a very difficult time in the Canadian economy. Dale has over 25 years of experience in engineering, project management, design, commissioning, and operations. He has extensive field experience including start-ups of refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants. Dale is a strong team leader who demands accountability and motivates his team to deliver successful projects from conception to conclusion. He brings real life perspective, problem solving abilities and team management expertise to projects, including demonstrated client relationships. Dale’s vast knowledge of field experience, management, leadership and work ethic are an absolute benefit to any team, client or project. Dale believes the success of any project is solid upfront engineering, as well as communication and an understanding of the challenges and scope of work; the key is managing all these aspects to find the right balance to achieve the project goals.

Joe Lee is the latest member to join Vepica’s leadership team. With over 40 years of engineering, projects and management experience, Joe has worked in various roles throughout his career from Lead Engineer, Department Manager, Engineering Manager and as Owner Project Manager. Joe’s background is in civil engineering and he has worked on oil sands mining projects, debottlenecking and expansions and sour gas compressor stations/plants across diverse project locations in Canada, Saudi Arabia and USSR. Having worked on both the management and owner’s side of the business has provided Joe with a keen appreciation and understanding of some of the key drivers and skillsets that are necessary in creating, funding and executing successful Projects .

Dragan Lemez finished school at the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Faculty of Civil/Structural Engineering in 1988 and started his career in engineering and construction of bridges, roads and tunnels. Altogether Dragan has 30 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, design and construction, for a variety of projects including oil and gas facilities, buildings and other infrastructure projects, as well as substations, renewable energy (wind farms) and transmission lines. Dragan has successfully led several CSA teams and won the Joseph J. Jacobs Global Master Builder award for the CNRL Kirby South (SAGD) Project. Dragan has been the Manager of Vepica’s Civil/Structural/Architectural (CSA) team in Canada for the past four years, and was a successful CSA lead on the Davis refinery project that was executed throughout Vepica’s many offices around the world. Under his leadership, the CSA team performed efficiently and issued quality deliverables on time. Dragan’s appointment to Technical Director for the Canadian office in the summer of 2019 was a natural transition due to his vast experience and knowledge of projects and engineering at all levels. Dragan is an integral part of Vepica and we look forward to his further contributions to the overall team.

Jeff Saxinger is a Project Engineering Manager that has been with Vepica in many capacities since 2005. Jeff has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, having spent 13 years in a shop fabrication engineering environment, where he established extensive practical experience in facilities and rotating equipment, particularly reciprocating compressors. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and has several Chemical Engineering courses through the University of Calgary.

Sasa Dzaferovic is a Process Lead with Vepica. Sasa has 10 years of experience in natural gas facilities, with gas processing, natural gas liquid extraction, acid gas compression/dehydration/injection, sulphur recovery, tail gas plant recovery, gas sweetening, petrochemical manufacturing and renewable energy processes. Sasa has worked on several gas plants ranging from 50 – 200 MMscf/d. In addition, Sasa has 8 years of comprehensive experience in scientific research and lecturing. Sasa holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree and Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, as well as a Doctorate Degree in Mathematics, all from the University of Sarajevo.

Lamont Butters has 30 years of experience working with rotating equipment and compressors. He spent approximately the first half of his career in a compressor package fabrication environment, and the past 17 years in EPC as a Rotating Specialist. Lamont has worked closely with vendors on the design and fabrication of compressor packages and is familiar with manufacturer performance programs for sizing, optimizing and troubleshooting both reciprocating and screw compressors.
