Giving back to our community is an important part of
Vepica’s success. We regularly volunteer at the Calgary
Food Bank and the Calgary Drop In Center. We recently
volunteered at the Food Bank during the Christmas
season, where we worked on the distribution line,
assembling food hampers for families. From stacking
crates, to handing out food, moving pallets and more, we
tackled all we could in the few hours we had.
Last year the Calgary Food Bank was used by over
180,000 people and almost 150,000 hours were
volunteered. The Calgary Drop In has been helping
Calgarian’s since 1955. They have 960 emergency shelter
beds and serve up to 1500 meals throughout the day. The
Drop In Center has more than 50 programs, including
employment services, affordable housing, medical and
free clothing. Our volunteers can be found in the kitchen
cooking, serving and cleaning up meals.
